Verify SIM card insertion

Verify the SIM card is properly inserted in the RV50(X)-series modem.

1. Remove the two screws and small panel on the face of the modem.

2. Remove the cover to expose the SIM card slot.

   

3. Press in on the SIM card and release to remove the card.

   

4. Note the location of the notched corner for correct alignment. The gold contact points of the SIM face down when inserting the SIM card. Gently slide the card into the slot until it stops and (clicks) locks into place.

5. Verify the SIM card is inserted into the SIM Slot 1 on the top.

   

You can verify whether the SIM card in the modem you are troubleshooting is functional by inserting it into a known good modem and assigning it the access point name (APN) associated with your account. If the SIM card works in the other modem, this confirms your cellular account is set up correctly with your provider.
