Cellular Modem Settings
The following table demonstrates the proper syntax for some common cellular modem settings that may be set programmatically using the SetSetting instruction. These settings may also be set using Device Configuration Utility Configuration tool used to set up dataloggers and peripherals, and to configure PakBus settings before those devices are deployed in the field and/or added to networks..

Setting | Description | SetSetting Syntax | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
CellAPN | Access Point Name (APN) | SetSetting ("CellAPN",0) | APN must be obtained from your cellular network provider. |
CellBillingDay | Start day of the billing cycle. | SetSetting("CellBillingDay",1) | Minimum = 1 Maximum = 28 |
CellDiversity | Enable/Disable the diversity antenna. | SetSetting("CellDiversity",1) | 0 = Disable
1 = Enable |
CellPDPUserName | PDP Cell Authentication UserName | SetSetting ("CellPDPUserName",) | Often there is no username. If a Username is required, it is provided with the APN. |
CellPDPPassword | PDP Cell Authentication Password | SetSetting ("CellPDPPassword",) | Often there is no password. If a password is required, it is provided with the APN. |
CellPDPAuth | PDP Authentication Protocol | SetSetting ("CellPDPAuth",0) |
0 None 1 PAP 2 CHAP |
CellIPProtocol | Cellular IP Protocol | SetSetting("CellIPProtocol",0) | 0 = IPv4
1 = IPv6 2 =IPv4/IPv6 |
CellPwrStartTime | Cellular power start (power-on) time | SetSetting ("CellPWrStartTime",1440) | Specifies time of day in minutes when the datalogger will first enable the cellular interface. Examples:
|
CellPwrDuration | Cellular power on duration | SetSetting ("CellPwrDuration",60) | Specifies the interval, in minutes, over which the datalogger will power its cellular interface |
CellPwrRepeat | Cell Power Repeat cycle | SetSetting ("CellPwrRepeat",60) | Specifies the interval in minutes to power on the cellular interface following the first time of the day that the datalogger powers on its cellular interface. |
TCPMSS | Maximum Transmission Unit or MTU | (SetSetting("TCPMSS", 1024) | Allows the user to set the size of the TCP/IP packet. |
