Lightning sensor

When lightning strikes, a broad electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) is created and can be detected using amplitude modulated radio circuitry (AM radio). The ClimaVue 50 G2 records the time of the pulse as well as the calculated distance based on the amplitude of the signal.
