Ensure 4G antenna compatibility

If your antenna is over 10 years old, it may not support 4G frequencies and should be replaced.

Campbell Scientific offers the following compatible antennas:

  • 2 dBd 4G/3G Multiband Omnidirectional Antenna with Mounting Hardware

  • 4G/3G 9 dBi MIMO Cellular Antenna with 2 Type N Socket (Female) Connectors

  • 4G/3G Cellular Whip Antenna with SMA Connector

Diversity and Primary antenna connectors on a CELL210

If you are also using a Diversity antenna or a MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) antenna, ensure the Diversity port is enabled.

To enable the Diversity antenna:

  1. Connect a USB cable between your module and computer.

  2. Open a web browser and go to: http://cell.linktodevice.com.

    TIP: If the link doesn't work, browse to 192.168.86.1.  

  3. On the Settings tab, Diversity Antenna is listed under General.

When MIMO functionality is available, it offers improved reliability, reduced signal reflections, and sometimes increased throughput.
