Displacement example

Geokon calibration report of a sensor without a thermistor provides a calibration report for a displacement transducer. The following steps convert the value output by the AVW200 in Hz to displacement.

1. Convert Hz to digits:

   Digits = Freq²/1000

2. Displacement = (3.598e–9) × Digits2 + (1.202e–3) × Digits + (–3.1682)

   Therefore,

   if Freq = 2400, then:

   digits = 2400²/1000 = 5760

   displacement = (3.598e–9) × (5760)2 + (1.202e–3) × 5760 + (–3.1682) = 3.875 inches
